Not much is going Yuvraj Singh’s way in the last few months, but the veteran batsman is in no mood to throw in the towel yet. The two-times World Cup champions made a fairy-tale return to the Indian side when he played his career-best knock of 150 against England earlier this year in only the second game after he was recalled to the ODI following a four-year hiatus.

However, things did not turn out as expected after that as he had a poor Champions Trophy where he aggregated 105 runs in four innings. It was followed by yet another dismal outing against West Indies before he was dropped. He also failed the mandatory Yo-Yo test thrice which reportedly made the selectors to ignore him. Things also went haywire in domestic cricket as he was not included in any of the three squads for the Duleep Trophy.

Recently, chief selector MSK Prasad had confirmed that Yuvraj was having fitness issues.

Yuvraj Singh has fitness issues. He has not played a lot of competitive cricket lately,” Prasad said in the press conference after the announcement of the squads.

However, Yuvraj Singh, who made a remarkable comeback to the cricket field after recovering from cancer, is eyeing another comeback to the national team. He recently cleared the Yo-Yo Test in the National Cricket Academy, and his latest Instagram post suggests that the southpaw is now focusing on his batting. Yuvraj posted a video of his nets practise on the social media where he could be seen middling the ball well.

Yuvraj, the Man of the Tournament in the 2011 World Cup, recently revealed that he had failed the Yo-Yo test thrice but expressed his desire of continuing the fight after finally clearing it.

“I would like to tell that I am failing. I still fail. I failed the last three fitness tests but yesterday I passed my fitness test. After 17 years I am still failing,” Yuvraj said on December 3.

“I am still playing. I don’t know what format I am going to play. But I am pushing everyday as hard as I used to, may be harder than before because I am getting older. And I see myself playing cricket till 2019 and obviously take a call after that,” he had added.
