Virat Kohli, on Friday (August 18), completed 15 years in international cricket. The India batting superstar made his debut in international cricket for Team India on this very day way back in 2008 during an ODI match against Sri Lanka in Dambulla.

Fast forward to 2023, and Virat Kohli has established himself as one of the biggest names in the game. The right-handed batsman is widely considered as one of the best batsmen of all time, especially in ODIs. He is also one of the best if not the best all-format player of his generation. Very few batsmen in the world have dominated all the three formats like Virat Kohli.

His success at the U19 level had convinced many that he would have a bright future but not many had expected such a glorious future for him. He has been the face of Indian cricket for over a decade now. And it would not be wrong to say that Virat Kohli has led Team India’s batting department with aplomb in the last decade or so.

Virat Kohli’s stunning fitness level:

Virat Kohli has stunned the cricketing world not only with his batting but also with his fitness. While he was athletic right from the time he started playing international cricket, it would not be too wrong to say that he lacked discipline. His chubby face said it all. He has himself admitted that he used to love parties, drinking, and munching on fast food in the early years of his career before deciding to change himself.

And the transformation has been absolutely stunning. Virat Kohli is presently one of the fittest cricketers in the world. Nothing describes his immense fitness level better than the impressive statistics of his running between the wickets. So far, Virat Kohli has scored 25,582 runs in international cricket and according to ESPNcricinfo, he has scored 13,748 of those runs by taking singles and converting them into twos and threes.

In his 15 years of international career, Kohli has run a total distance of 276.57 kilometers between the wickets. The stats look even more incredible when compared with his batting partners over the years.  Throughout his career, compared to Kohli, his batting partners combined have scored 11,606 runs by running between the wickets and have covered a distance of 233.48 km combined.
