Gujarat Titans (GT) skipper Shubman Gill showed glimpses of good touch with the bat in the ongoing game against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. The match between the teams is underway at the Narendra Modi International Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Gujarat Titans skipper Shubman Gill started well in the game against Royal Challengers Bengaluru. However, he was very close to getting a run out early in the second over of the game at the Narendra Modi International Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Shubman Gill was involved in a nasty collision with RCB pacer Mohammed Siraj. It was during the 5th ball of the second over when Mohammed Siraj bowled a full delivery to which the Gujarat Titans skipper drove toward the mid-off and called for a quick single.

As he sprinted for the single, he collided with Mohammed Siraj, who fell on the ground in his follow-through. The batter too was almost down but he did well to run towards the bowling end at the Narendra Modi International Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Virat Kohli, who was stationed at mid-off, was quick to charge towards the ball and collect it. He attempted a direct hit but failed and had there been one, the Gujarat Titans skipper was a goner. It was a lucky escape for the right-hander in the ongoing game.

Earlier in the game, Royal Challengers Bengaluru won the toss and opted to field first. They had a dream start with the ball as Swapnil Singh removed Wriddhiman Saha in the first over of the innings. The keeper-batter managed just 5 runs off 4 balls as the visitors took the first wicket for 6 runs.

Gujarat Titans skipper Shubman Gill had some low scores under his belt in the past few games. The opening batter had another opportunity to make an impact with the bat in the ongoing game. But he failed to get some runs under his belt and managed just 16 runs.

Speaking at the toss, Gujarat Titans skipper Shubman Gill admitted that they need to put a good total on the board to win the game. He also stated that it was the right time for them to peak in the tournament. He added:

"Would have chased as well, looks like a really good wicket. Need to put a good total on the board. We have batted decently, we lost by a difference of just one ball in the last game. This is the right time to peak for us."
