Former India fast bowler Zaheer Khan has shared his views on Royal Challengers Bengaluru's incredible turnaround in the ongoing season of the Indian Premier League.

RCB's chances of making it to the playoffs looked all done and dusted after they lost seven of their first eight games. However, the three-time finalists have turned their campaign around in a remarkable fashion and are now in contention to qualify for the playoffs.

They are on a five-match winning streak and have looked almost unstoppable in recent games. The Faf du Plessis-led side has just blown teams away to revive their playoffs chances. They ended their losing streak with a thumping 35-run win over Sunrisers Hyderabad. It was followed by a nine-wicket win over Gujarat Titans before they defeated the same opposition again by four wickets.

In their 12th game of the season, RCB thrashed Punjab Kings by 60 runs after piling up a mammoth total of 241. In their last game, the Bengaluru-based outfit defeated Delhi Capitals by 47 runs to become the first team to win five games in a row this season. At present, they are in the fifth spot in the points table.

Zaheer Khan on RCB's turnaround:

RCB have impressed many with their performance in recent games and Zaheer Khan is also one of them. The India great gave RCB 'full marks' for keeping their playoffs hopes alive after the disastrous start to the season.

"They lost six in a row and have now picked up five consecutive wins. This does not happen without passion, so you have to appreciate that. We do not usually see a team revive its season like this after so many losses, so RCB gets full marks. Whatever you can control is what you base your expectations on, and RCB is showing that.

Their last match is against CSK, so one of those teams, or both of them, could end up with 14 points. Due to this, the other results are important. They have improved their run rate as well. If all these things go RCB's way until the final match, it will be an extremely interesting contest," Zaheer told Jio Cinema.

RCB will be taking on reigning champions Chennai Super Kings in their last league game. It will be a do-or-die clash for them.
