IND vs SA: "It Was Pretty Nerve Wrecking"- Lungi Ngidi After Winning The Player Of The Match Award

South African Cricket Team would be ecstatic after winning the match against India. The Proteas won the match by 5 wickets with 2 balls remaining and showed a lot of character. Due to this win, South Africa now is one step closer to making it to the Semi Final Stage.

South Africa wouldn’t have thought that chasing 134 runs would be tough. Indian fast bowlers were bang on target with their line and lengths. David Miller and Aiden Markram took the team out of the muddle after an early setback.  Both the batters struck half-centuries and had a clear game plan against the bowlers.

Lungi Ngidi had come into the side in the place of Tabraiz Shamsi. The speedster took 4 wickets for 29 runs in his 4-over spell. The right-arm fast bowler was bowling hard length and hardly gave any freebies to the Indian batters.

The management now has some happy head-aches as they would be in a conundrum of which player to drop after Ngidi’s scintillating performance. Ngidi got ample support from the rest of the bowlers as it was a collective effort from the team.

During the post-match presentation, Lungi Ngidi was asked about the last over-finish. “It was pretty nerve wrecking when games get down that close, as a bowler you can’t do much and just have to believe in the boys. This is one of my biggest dreams, to get something like this (award) at the World Cup and help the country win a game, will cherish it for a long time. ” said Ngidi

 “It comes with watching a lot of games being played here, fortunately I have played here as well and had that information (on how to bowl). We saw Pakistan bowl earlier and pretty much had to do the same thing. After the 10-over break, Markram moved the game forward and David followed him. That partnership brought us close and then David finished it.” he concluded.
