Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) have received a massive boost ahead of the game against Mumbai Indians (MI) in the  Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. Fast bowler Mayank Yadav has been declared fit for the team's next fixture, confirmed the LSG bowling coach Morne Morkel.

Mayank Yadav has been out of action for Lucknow Super Giants since the game against Gujarat Titans. The fast bowler got injured during the game against the Shubman Gill-led side and couldn't even complete his full quote of four overs at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow.

Mayank Yadav walked off the field with the injury, which was later revealed as a side strain. Since then he has missed all the games for the team and it no doubt has left a void in the team, especially with the kind of performance he produced in the two games that he played before.

Mayank Yadav came into the limelight for his express pace in the ongoing IPL 2024. He broke into the scene during the game against Punjab Kings. The fast bowler changed the complexion of the game with his bowling, troubling the opposition with his ability to consistently clock 155kmph.

In the next game against Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Mayank Yadav came up even better performance as he troubled Australian batters, which speaks a lot about his effort as unsettling players from down under isn't a piece of cake.

Mayank Yadav helped his team win the two games in the tournament from the losing cause and picked 6 wickets in the two games, winning two back-to-back Man of the Match awards, becoming the first player to achieve the feat.

After missing a few games, Mayank Yadav will be back in action for Lucknow Super Giants. The team's bowling coach Morne Morkel ahead of the game against Mumbai Indians, confirmed that the fast bowler has passed the fitness test and will be playing. He stated:

"Regarding Mayank Yadav, he has passed all the fitness tests and is in the probable XII for the match against Mumbai Indians. He is looking good and is ready to bowl again."

His action is really, really good, and I really love his action - Varun Aaron on Mayank Yadav

Former India cricketer Varun Aaron recently shared his verdict on Mayank Yadav, claiming that he fast bowler has a good bowling action but needs to make a slight change that will help reduce injuries. Speaking to Star Sports, he explained:

"His action is really, really good, and I really love his action. The only place where I feel he could look is where his left arm is.So when you talk about generating force and then releasing that force. If you are generating so much force, force is not getting released in the same intensity.

"You're gonna have a blockage, there's gonna be injuries. So if he can get his left arm go through instead of getting stuck. That will definitely put a little less load on the body," he concluded.
