Australian off-spinner Nathan Lyon has stated that he is surprised as to how the Indian batsmen have tackled him throughout the Test series. Lyon has said that he is not fazed by the Indian challenge and he is still thriving on confidence ahead of the fourth Test which will be played at the Gabba, Brisbane, from January 15.

Nathan Lyon is often referred to as the ‘GOAT: Greatest Of All Time” in the Australian cricketing circuit. He has been among one of their best spinners in the history of Australian cricket.  The veteran off-spinner has picked 396 Test wickets so far and he has been among Australia’s first choice in the longest format of the game. However, in the 3 Test matches this series, he has been able to clinch only 6 wickets so far.

Indian Batsmen Have Come Up With A Great Plan To Combat Me: Nathan Lyon

“This summer has been challenging. Playing against India, again, I think they’ve come up with some really good plans to combat me. To be honest, I’ve been really happy with what I’ve been bowling. I’ve been able to create some chances which have been really positive. I’m very happy the way they’re coming out,” Nathan Lyon said.

“Some days the wheel doesn’t turn around and you don’t have much luck in the middle. I’m very happy how they’re coming out of my hand, [I’m] very confident,” he said to reporters on Wednesday.

Looking Forward To The Brisbane Test: Lyon

Nathan Lyon is only third on the list of Australia’s highest wicket-takers in Test cricket. Only, Glenn McGrath and Shane Warne have taken more wickets than him in this format. Although Lyon has failed to clinch wickets in this series, he has said that he is looking forward to the Brisbane Test.

“I’m very excited to get to the Gabba where there’s a bit more bounce than the MCG and SCG, definitely SCG anyway. I’m very excited about that. Knowing that if I keep doing my job with the Australian cricket team the luck will keep changing here and there. I’ve just got to stay patient and see how we go,” Lyon added.

The Indian Cricket Team is now all set to take on Australia in the final Test of the series at Brisbane from January 15. The team is dealing with a lot of injuries as their star men have been ruled out including Ravindra Jadeja, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, Umesh Yadav, Hanuma Vihari. If team India manages to pull off a  win or a draw in the final Test, it will be none short of an achievement.
