On Monday, the full list of platinum players for the BBL overseas draft was revealed by CA. There are 12 platinum players, including Trent Boult, Faf du Plessis, Roy, Liam Livingstone, Sam Billings, Kieron Pollard, Russell, David Willey, Shadab, Dwayne Bravo, Rashid Khan and Chris Jordan.

The aforementioned players will be paid AU$340,000 (US $233,853 approx.) regardless of how many games they are available for.

Boult will be available for the first month in the BBL as he is also set to play the inaugural edition of the UAE’s ILT20, which will be played in January-February. The veteran left-arm pacer will represent the Mumbai Indians-owned MI Emirates side in the tournament.

Trent Boult To Miss The Pakistan Tour

On August 10, New Zealand Cricket (NZC) announced that the board has agreed to release Trent Boult from the central contract after the pacer had requested to stay out of the central contract to spend more time with his family and make himself available for franchise T20 leagues.

Staying out of the central contract doesn’t necessarily end Boult’s international career, but New Zealand Cricket had indicated that the contracted players will be given priority when selecting squads.

New Zealand National Cricket Team are set to play a two-match Test series and a three-match ODI series on the Pakistan tour in December-January. Boult is unlikely to play for the Black Caps on the Pakistan tour as he would be busy with his T20 league duties during that period.

Earlier, Trent Boult had said that the decision to stay out of the central contract was a tough one for him to make.

“This has been a really tough decision for me and I’d like to thank New Zealand Cricket for their support in getting to this point,” Boult said.

“Playing cricket for my country was a childhood dream and I’m so proud of everything I’ve been able to achieve with the Black Caps over the past 12 years.

“Ultimately this decision is about my wife Gert and our three young boys. The family has always been the biggest motivator for me and I feel comfortable with putting it first and preparing ourselves for life after cricket.”

“As a fast bowler I know I have a limited career span, and I feel the time is right to move into this next phase.”
