Pakistan vs England 2022 series now moves onto Lahore with the final three games to be played. The series is posed at 2-2 after The hosts bounced back to win the fourth game in Karachi. The hosts scored 166/4 on the back of Mohammad Rizwan’s 88 off 67 balls. Babar Azam scored 36 off 28 nalls as the openers looked in good touch. Reece Topley took 2 for 27 for England.
England lost their top-order quickly in the chase. Ben Duckett (33), Harry Brook (34), Moeen Ali (29) and Liam Dawson (34) brought the visitors very close but Haris Rauf bowled an immaculate spell to take Pakistan home. He picked three wickets in the death overs to prevent England from taking the lead in the series.
Meanwhile, England skipper Jos Buttler who was expected to play the last few games is now ruled out of the remaining three games. England coach Matthew Mott spoke o the reporters on Sunday and confirmed Buttler’s absence from the last three matches.
“With regards to Jos, he’s still a while off. He’s not a player we want to take a risk on at this stage, so close to a World Cup, and it was a reasonably significant injury that he had. He’s champing at the bit for a game but we’ll just try and see how we go: maybe in the last game or two, he might be a chance,” Mott was quoted as saying by ESPNCricinfo.
