Former Indian cricketer Parthiv Patel feels that all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja should bat at No.6 for India in the ICC T20 World Cup 2022. Over the years, Jadeja has transformed into a power-hitter of the ball, who loves to finish the matches.

It all began with his 23-ball 44 against Australia in the first T20I match in Canberra, his late firing against Mitchell Starc helped India post a decent score of 161/7 and eventually they went to win that match by 11 runs.

Can Ravindra Jadeja bat in India’s middle-order in T20Is?

When India were struggling against New Zealand in the T20 World Cup last year, Jadeja played a sedate knock of 26* to bail the Men in Blue out of an embarrassing total in the first innings with 110/7 on the sluggish track in Dubai.

The 33-year-old, who suffered a right forearm injury in the first Test against New Zealand, returned back to the Indian side after a gap of nearly three months. He was promoted to bat at No.4 but just made three runs from four deliveries as he saw Shreyas Iyer firing in the slog overs from the non-striker’s end.

Ravindra Jadeja is the 3D player in the true sense: Parthiv Patel

Parthiv is of the opinion that the Indian all-rounder has the capability to bat at the No.6 position in this year’s T20 World Cup. The former Indian wicket-keeper batter called Jadeja a three-dimensional player of the game.

“Jadeja has earned his reputation as a batting wizard who can take up any kind of responsibility. He’s done that in T20Is and ODIs and we saw him doing that against England in Test cricket as well. We all know his batting ability… and if he’s fit for the T20 World Cup, then he should bat at the No. 6 position. If India picks four-seamers in Australia, then Deepak Chahar or Shardul Thakur can bat at the No. 7 spot,” Parthiv told Cricbuzz.

“According to me, Jadeja is fully able to bat at No. 6 or even No. 5 in the batting line-up. He’s that kind of player who can be used as a bowler and batter as well… and we all know how good his fielding skills are. He’s the 3D player in the true sense,” he further said.

Jadeja has scored 259 runs from 27 innings at the strike rate of 113.1 in T20 Internationals.
