If one picks the ITT document that doesn’t guarantee them the broadcasting rights. The giants won’t put the final bid as the BCCI has segregated the media rights into four different package categories and there won’t be a single bid allowed like last time.

The four categories for the media rights for the next cycle are: TV Rights for the Indian subcontinent, Digital Rights, 18 games (inaugural game, weekend double-headers, 4 play-off fixtures), and the Rest of the World.

Netflix, Facebook also interested in IPL media rights

Reports also suggest that Netflix, Facebook, Apple and Airtel are also interested for the IPL media rights but there is no confirmation regarding it as of now. The BCCI has set the combined base price of the IPL media rights to INR 32,890 crore, which will go for sale on June 12.

The IPL 2022 will be the last year for the current broadcasters Star India Pvt Ltd, who had purchased the broadcasting rights for a whopping sum of INR 16,347 crore for the period of 2018-22.
