Hardik Pandya Plays A Captain’s Innings

Earlier in the day, GT did not have the best of starts to their innings as they lost Shubham Gill to a brilliant bit of catching by Rahul Tripathi. Sai Sudarshan too fell quickly. Matthew Wade and Pandya had a little partnership in the middle but then Umran Malik trapped Wade in front of the wicket with his sheer pace.

As wickets kept falling, Hardik held onto one end. And in the end, he got support from Abhinav Manohar and set GT towards a good total.

Hardik Pandya with his six against Markram also showed that he wasn’t particularly fazed by the delivery which hit on thr head.

Umran Malik bowled a quick bouncer which hit Pandya straight on the helmet, but Pandya responded with two back to back boundaries against the quick bowler and showed his intent.

Pandya reached the 100 sixes milestone in 1046 balls. Andre Russell has taken the fewest balls to hit 100 sixes, 657 balls. The 2nd on the list is Universe Boss, Chris Gayle who took 943 balls to hit 100 sixes. The next Indian batter on the list is Rishabh Pant who has taken 1224 balls to reach the milestone.

Gujarat Titans have won three consecutive games this season while SRH have lost 2 out of the three they have played.
