IND vs SL: Watch - Jasprit Bumrah Ends Dimuth Karunratne's Resistance With A Peach

Indian pace bowler Jasprit Bumrah showcased his class once again in the second innings of Day 3 of the Bengaluru Test as he knocked over the Sri Lankan captain, Dimuth Karunaratne, with a stunning delivery.

On a surface that has offered a lot for the spin bowlers, Bumrah had taken a five-wicket haul in the first innings. He had an immediate impact in the second essay as well, knocking over Lahiru Thirimanne for a duck.

Some stern resistance from Karunaratne and Kusal Mendis ensued but once the latter fell to Ravichandran Ashwin, the floodgates opened. It was only Karunaratne who showed some fighting spirit en route to his 14th international hundred.

In the end, it needed a special delivery from Bumrah to knock over Karunaratne. Coming in from around the wicket, Bumrah dished out a full delivery with serious pace which sneaked through the bat-pad gap and crashed into the middle stump.

The Sri Lankan captain is only the third from his country to score a century in India while leading the side. His knock showed that batting wasn’t impossible if the right temperament is adopted.

Although wickets fell at the other end on a consistent basis, Karunaratne remained unshaken and piled on the runs, ensuring that the Lankans cross the 200-run mark for the first time in the Test series.

India leads the Test series by 1-0 and is well on course to wrap it up with another victory in Bengaluru. It will be their third consecutive win in Day-Night matches.
