West Indies have taken a 1-0 lead in the Test series and would want to make it 2-0 when they take on Pakistan in the second Test at Sabina Park Stadium. The second Test will be played from 20th August to 24th August 2021.

The first Test between Pakistan and West Indies was indeed a mouth-watering contest. Till the last session of the game, nobody could have predicted the winner. Roston Chase and Jayden Seales held their nerves to script a one-wicket win for West Indies in the end.

On seaming conditions, Pakistan posted a decent-looking 217-run total in the first innings, thanks to valuable contributions from Fawad Alam, Babar Azam, and Faheem Ashraf. West Indies, in reply, posted 253. Skipper K Brathwaite scored a brilliant 97, including 12 fours, while Jason Holder notched a half-century.

Pakistan batters were guilty of throwing away their starts in their second innings as they got bundled out for 203. Babar Azam scored a half-century, while Abid Ali and M Rizwan scored 34 and 30 respectively. Jayden Seales was the pick of the bowlers for West Indies, who picked his maiden five-for in Tests.

West Indies needed 168 to win the Test match and Pakistan made sure it doesn’t become a walk in the park for the Windies. Shaheen Afridi took four wickets to gave Pakistan the best chance to win the Test. West Indies’ last recognizable batsman, Joshua Da Silva got out in the 50th over with 142 on the board.

With 2 wickets in hand, West Indies required 26 runs and Pakistan perhaps had the upper hand. However, a resilient 30 off 52 from Kemar Roach and decent cameos from Jomel Warrican and Jayden Sealed helped West Indies reach home in the end.
