There is still nearly three months left before the next edition of the Indian Premier League gets underway but the franchises have already started competing against each other albeit not on the field. The IPL franchises, on Friday, were involved in a fascinating game of passwords, inspired by the latest trend on Twitter named #NewPassword.

The upcoming edition of the IPL is reportedly set to start on March 29 with defending champions Mumbai Indians taking on one of the seven teams at their home ground Wankhede. On the other hand, the final will be played on May 24. According to reports, the IPL governing council has decided to keep the starting time of all night matches at 7:30 pm. There are also reports suggesting that there would be no double header in the upcoming season.

Coming to the latest password trend on Twitter, brands and teams upload pictures of resetting their password, following the password change prompt, with the end step – ‘New Password’, ‘Re-Enter New Password’. IPL teams also joined the bandwagon.

Inaugural winners Rajasthan Royals came up with a hilarious post as their new password contained the same number of words as Virat Kohli’s favourite word on the cricket field and the word was Ben****. And when the new password looked weak, they changed it to Ben Stokes.

On the other hand, Kings XI Punjab used the opportunity to talk about their new captain KL Rahul. In November, the Kings XI traded Ravichandran Ashwin to Delhi Capitals and named Rahul as his successor.

Royal Challengers Bangalore used the trend to boast about their skipper Virat Kohli’s penchant for breaking world records every now and then.

Delhi Capitals mentioned about their skipper Shreyas Iyer being a strong candidate to end India’s long wait for the number four batsman.

Sunrisers Hyderabad, on the other hand, tweeted:
