Former Australian veteran spinner Brad Hogg, who has mentored aggressive young chinaman Kuldeep Yadav believes the great future lies ahead of the latter in the top-flight cricket.

With Kuldeep coming a long way, Kuldeep and Hogg had shared a WhatsApp chat.

“Oh god! The questions!” Hogg maintains of Kuldeep’s inquisitive nature.

The chat revealed Kuldeep and Hogg had shared a great bond between the borders which further reflected that the latter has great regard for the promising bowler.

“Kuldeep would be the perfect role model for a son I would want. He is a fantastic human being. Genuine, authentic, and someone who keeps it real,” Hogg was quoted by IE.

It’s pertinent to mention that the 47-year-old left-arm spinner Hogg was representing Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Kolkata Knight Riders which saw him nursing Kuldeep in the nets.

Interestingly, Hogg reiterated he is now supposed to send the congratulatory messages to Kuldeep following his remarkable effort with the ball.

Alongside Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep had made a decent formation to ask plenty of the top-notch batters owing to his impeccable line and length with the white-ball.

“Four years back, it used to be a lot more technical or strategical and tips if I had any, but now, it has reached a nice little congratulatory notes,” Hogg said.

Owing to the vital tips, Kuldeep worked hard to excel in the limited overs format.

However, the Western Australia-based Hogg is confident of seeing Kuldeep doing a bulk of the job while donning the whites.

“Oh, he is ready. A quality wrist spinner always does well against England. And if they need just one spinner, I think he is ready for it. He is not a T20 and ODI specialist, he is the real deal. Throw him in the Tests, I say!” Kuldeep further said.

Hogg made a bold statement while stating Kuldeep could be that solitary spinner who could feature in away fixtures.

The 23-year-old Kanpur-born Kuldeep has made a strong statement in the recently concluded bilateral series in South Africa.

In the six-match Momentum One-day International series, Kuldeep bagged 17 wickets to prove his selection in the away tour.

The timeline from ‘Sir’ to ‘Hoggy.’

While banking on the rare trait, Hogg and Kuldeep have set a massive example of the art. It has simultaneously an important role to play in the amalgamation.

“When I met him four years ago, I felt he was a well-rounded young man. He worked bloody hard, listened a lot, asked questions; immediately you knew that here is a guy who is serious about his career,” Hogg reminisced.

Interestingly, as Hogg was imparting the knowledge to Kuldeep, who used to address the former has a sir seems to be changing with the time.

“Mind you, he is pretty cheeky too, not shy in throwing the birthday cake at your face!” Bradd Hogg added.

So much so, The wrist-spinner from India fondly calls the senior professional cricketer as ‘Hoggy’ which has further witnessed Hogg as delightful as ever.

“It took me four years to convince him! I have huge respect for him as he respects his peers but he has also got to understand that he has worked extremely hard and has earned his stripes now,” Hogg stated.

Hogg believes Kuldeep could be an important asset for India in the Test series Down-Under.
