Champion Sides all Set to be Part of the Abu Dhabi T20 Trophy

Some of the best T20 teams will be part of the upcoming Abu Dhabi T20 trophy. The tournament is all set to begin in October. In fact, five of six teams that will partake in the competition got confirmed.

The five teams include Pakistan Super League franchise Lahore Qalandars, Hobart Hurricanes from Australia’s Big Bash.

Furthermore, English T20 side Yorkshire Vikings, Afghanistan’s Boost Defenders, and South Africa’s Multiply Titans will be in action. Meanwhile, the sixth team will be announced soon by the organizers.

Some fine players will add the spark in the tournament.

Windies southpaw batsman Chris Gayle is among the star players who would in action in the T20 tournament. Gayle will play for Boost Defenders.

England’s Tymal Mills will play for the Hurricanes, whereas, Gary Ballance will hold the captaincy reins for Vikings. Pakistan experienced spinner, Yasir Shah will turn out for Qalandars.

Meanwhile, South Africa’s Titans will be led by Albie Morkel. Titans will also have the services of Farhaan Behardieen.

The tournament will run from 4th October to 6th October.

“Make no mistake, this a dynamic field of the best of the best,” said His Excellency Aref Al Awani, General Secretary of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council. “With this level of player power, the tournament allows Abu Dhabi to deliver on our mandate of ushering in an exciting new era of cricket in the emirate.

“Fans can look forward to three days of thrilling entertainment in what we anticipate will be fiercely fought action to lift the inaugural Abu Dhabi T20 Trophy.

Consequently, Abu Dhabi T20 trophy has received the support from International Cricket Council and England and Wales Cricket Board. The tournament is expecting to host 20,000 fans at the Zayed Cricket Stadium which will be the venue.
