Darren Lehmann To Coach Brisbane Heat In Next Year's Big Bash League

Darren Lehmann was the head coach of the Australian Cricket Team in the previous edition of Ashes Trophy. However, the emergence of distasteful incidents in the last one years has seen him being stepped down from the role for his country. However, after a fine time, Darren Lehmann set to be the head coach of Brisbane Heat in Big Bash League.

It was a tough period when the Australian team was embarrassed in South Africa during the ball-tampering saga. They are still trying to find their proper XI across the formats. During the course, Darren Lehmann, who was expected to call it quits after the 2019 World Cup, announced his departure with teary eyes after the South African tour.

Meanwhile, the respective board had issued a 12-month ban on the then skipper Steve Smith and vice-captain, David Warner for their involvement in the bizarre plot. Another player to receive the prohibition was Cameron Bancroft, who was the newbie in the team.

However, recently, Cameron Bancroft has concluded his ban period and already scoring big knocks for his side. In between, Steve Smith and David Warner are eagerly waiting to return to the national fold at the end of the March.

During the course, the former head coach of Australia, Darren Lehmann is set to return to the coaching panel again. He will look after the head coach role in the Brisbane Heat Franchise for the next year edition of Big Bash League.

According to a report in the Daily Telegraph, Lehmann, who quit as Australian coach in the aftermath of the incident that saw Steve Smith and David Warner being handed 12-month suspensions, while Cameron Bancroft escape with a nine-month ban, has got the top job at Brisbane Heat, edging out Queensland coach Wade Seccombe.

Recently, the ex-head coach quoted he would love to coach his team once again in the future for a short stint. The former Aussie feels he still got the juice in him to deliver the goods for the country across the formats.

Currently, Lehmann has been busy doing radio commentary for Fox Cricket and Macquarie Sports Radio this summer. He will take the reigns from Daniel Vettori, who is the head coach of Brisbane Heat.
