Back in 2014, today, it was one of the darkest days that cricketing world has ever experienced. They lost one of their glorious talented children, Philip Hughes on the field. Those were the tough days for Australians to get over the tragic incident and the whole teammates, especially, Michael Clarke, David Warner were literally in tears for quite a few days.

We remember you, Philip Hughes!!

The incident took place in the afternoon session of the Sheffield Shield match between South Australia and New South Wales at the Sydney Cricket Ground on 25 November 2014. Philip Hughes, who was batting on 63 not out, was struck in the neck by the ball after missing an attempted hook shot of Sean Abbott’s bouncer.

The blow caused a haemorrhage in the brain, where Hughes was into the ground just after the minutes. He batted for his life for a couple of days in the presence of world-class doctors, but unfortunately, none of them saved his life.

Perhaps, he would have finished as one of the greatest Australian batsmen, but unfortunately, this thing took place. Meanwhile, he started his International career on a fine note by knocking it brilliantly for Australia.

Philip Hughes career stats:

Philip got the Test call-up at a very young age when Hayden called curtains on his career. He started the things with a duck, but soon, he made a mark by knocking 75 to his name in the second innings against South Africa.

It was followed by scintillating centuries in both innings of the second Test in Durban. He was the youngest batsman to achieve such a feat in international cricket.

However, Hughes appeared in 26 Test matches and 25 ODI matches to score 1535 and 826 runs, respectively. He also bagged three centuries and seven fifties by numbering 160, as his highest individual score.
