S Sreesanth needs no introduction. While the former India pacer do not boast of a very impressive track record in international cricket, his contributions and more importantly his behaviour on the field made sure he always remained in the spotlight. S Sreesanth was a part of the Indian team that won the 2007 T20 World Cup and the 2011 50-over World Cup.

His career then took a huge blow when he was accused of spot-fixing during 2013 IPL. S Sreesanth along with two other former Rajasthan Royal players Ajit Chandila and Ankit Chavan was accused of fixing.

BCCI conducted its own investigation and banned the pacer for life. But last month, his ban was cut short to seven months. BCCI ombudsman DK Jain ordered for S Sreesanth’s spot-fixing ban to be reduced to a seven-year suspension. Thus Sreesanth will be eligible to play from September 2020.

The World Cup-winning pacer, nonetheless, has continued to remain in spotlight for other reasons too. From his statement for Paddy Upton to admitting that he hates Chennai Super Kings, S Sreesanth has not shied away from giving his customary eyebrow-raising statements. Recently, he also sensationally claimed that Dinesh Karthik was responsible for his ouster from the team.

Karthik has now responded to the allegations. The wicketkeeper-batsman laughed off the allegations and did not reveal his much details of how he gets along with the pacer.

“Yes, I have heard about S Sreesanth’s comments that I was responsible for his ouster from the Indian team. Even to react to an allegation like that will be silly,” Karthik told The Hindu.

Before the ban, S Sreesanth represented India in 27 Tests, 53 ODIs and 10 T20 Internationals, claiming 169 wickets across formats. After his ban was cut short, he had said he wants to play for India again and complete 100 wickets in Tests.
