ENG Vs IND 2018: Watch: Ravi Shastri Caught Sleeping During Day One of the First Test

Team India head coach, Ravi Shastri was caught sleeping just after the lunch break during the first day of the first Test at Edgbaston in Birmingham on August 1 (Wednesday).
Meanwhile, India finished the day on a high after hosts England dominated the first two sessions thoroughly. The visitors bagged six wickets in the last session to crawl back into the game.
Off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin led the attack with four wickets while Mohammed Shami returned with two.
On the other end, Ishant Sharma and Umesh Yadav also chipped in one each during the fag end of the day’s play.
However, previously, England started on a high riding on skipper Joe Root and Keaton Jennings‘ calculative batting. The pair added 72 runs before Jennings departed and Dawid Malan followed too shortly. Since then, Jonny Bairstow and Root looked in absolute control of the proceedings.
They played according to the merit of the delivery cashing in on the loose ones. In the process, Root brought his half-century, his 12th consecutive fifties against India in Tests. When he looked well in line for another hundred, Virat Kohli’s stole the wicket a moment of brilliance.
Ravi Shastri takes a nap:
Shastri was caught napping (literally) after lunch when England Root was looking invincible, countering everything thrown at him with ease.
Harbhajan Singh, in the commentary box, was quick to spot that urged him to wake up.
“Ravi Shastri having a nap there. Wake up, Ravi!” said the former India off-spinner.
The commentary box was abuzz and Harbhajan even instructed Indian assistant coach Sanjay Bangar, who was listening to the commentary sitting beside Shastri, to pass on the message to the chief coach.
After knowing that his actions were caught on camera, Shastri tried to convey that he was meditating prompting a collective laughter in the commentary box.
