England Introduces Date for Maiden Ireland Test Next Summer

On Thursday (July 19), England and Wales Cricket Board announced their fixture for the next summer. As per the schedule, England will feature in the one-off Test against Ireland.

A limited-overs game against Pakistan will follow the historic Test followed by the World Cup in England and Wales itself. After then, England will be participating in the Ashes.

Schedule against Pakistan

England will start their home summer with one-off T20 against Pakistan scheduled to take place at Cardiff on May 5.

Soon after that, England will feature in five-match ODI series against Pakistan. The first game of which will take place at the Oval on May 8. The subsequent games are scheduled to be held at Ageas Bowl (May 11), Bristol (May 14), Trent Bridge (May 17) and Headingley (May 19).

The Historic Test

After the five-match ODI series against Pakistan, the men in blue will feature in the one-off Test against Ireland post the World Cup.

This Test match will get comprised of just four days. The mecca of cricket will be honoured to host this Test which is scheduled to take place on July 24.

The Ashes

The highly awaited series, Ashes will begin on August 1. Edgbaston will host the first Test match of Ashes. Lord’s will host the second Test match featuring from August 14 to 18.

The subsequent matches will be held at Headingley (August 22 to 26), Old Trafford (September 4 to 8) and The Oval (September 12-16). Subsequently, the games of limited-overs in domestic cricket will be shifted to avoid clashes with the World Cup 2019.

It is a once-in-a-generation opportunity for us to build an even bigger following for all formats of the game,” Tom Harrison, the ECB CEO, said.
