Here Are The Shortlisted Candidates For Various Coaching Roles Of Team India

Recently, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) invited applications for the men’s team support staff including the head coach who will need to be less than 60 years of age with a minimum international experience of two years.

The BCCI has designed the process of hiring the support staff including head coach, batting coach, bowling coach, fielding coach, physiotherapist, strength and conditioning coach and administrative manager. The application deadline has already completed as well.

Ravi Shastri in the mix:

The Indian team’s new coaching set-up will be picked up by BCCI’s Cricket Advisory Committee, comprising World Cup-winning captain Kapil Dev, former head coach Anshuman Gaikwad and Shantha Rangaswamy.

Meanwhile, we came up with the list of persons, who were shortlisted by the respective board. For head coach role, they finalised six members, which include the current head coach Ravi Shastri as well. On the other hand, for Batting coach role, they named as many as 13 members that include Sanjay Bangar.

As far as bowling coach is concerned, they named 9 former cricketers while for Fielding coach role, there are three candidates, which include the current coach R Sridhar as well. However, he got the tough opponent in the name of Jonty Rhodes.

Looking at the likely people to take the role, as per the reports, it is learnt that the board is in favour of Ravi Shastri. He had a fair bit of success with the team. For bowling coach, Bharat Arun would likely to continue, as he brought a great difference in the game for fast bowlers.

For fielding role, it would be tricky with the greatest fielder of all time throwing his hat in the mix. R Sridhar did a brilliant job in bringing the new standards to the Indian team.

Head coach –  Mike Hesson,  Tom Moody, Phil Simmons, Lalchand Rajput, Robin Singh and Ravi Shastri

Batting Coach – Vikram Rathour, Lalchand Rajput, Pravin Amre, Thilan Samaraweera. Hrishikesh Kanitkar, Amol Mazumdar, J Arun Kumar, Mark Ramprakash. Shiv Sundar Das, Jonathan Trott, John Lewis, Mithun Manhas, Sanjay Bangar.

Bowling Coach – Venkatesh Prasad, Dodda Ganesh, Darren Gough, Clint McKay, Subroto Banerjee, Paras Mhambrey, Sunil Joshi, Amit Bhandari, Bharat Arun

And also, Fielding Coach – Jonty Rhodes, Abhay Sharma, R Sridhar
