I Still Can't Believe I am Close to 10,000 ODI Runs - Virat Kohli

Yes, it is Virat Kohli and what a ride of ten years it has been for him in the international cricket.

The skipper of the Indian cricket, Virat Kohli quoted he is close to one of the greatest records, but he still feels like a club cricketer. He added it is a good habit for him, as it keeps his hunger to score runs for the team.

Virat Kohli went on to add he would quit the game when he will lose that hunger to score. For now, he is concentrating on winning the matches for India and lifting the numerous trophies.

”I’m close to 10,000 ODI runs and I still can’t believe it; I walk out and I feel like I’m still a club cricketer playing my first match. I still have to get that first run. And I’m so happy and grateful that I still have that feeling and I don’t think, ‘Oh, I’ve done everything’. I still have that respect for the game that I had in my first match,” Virat Kohli quoted.

”I know that when that feeling dies off it’s going to be time. But the fact that it has gone on for so long, and it has made me work hard on my game – continuously, relentlessly – is so wonderful to experience,” he added while speaking to Wisden Cricket Monthly.

However, it has been a fantastic ride so far for the run-machine of India. Virat Kohli is making a habit of breaking the records with his solid strokeplay and the aggressive captaincy as well. Meanwhile, he also became the hottest brand ambassador in the country as well.
