World cricket governing body International Cricket Council (ICC) suspends Windies fast bowler Ronsford Beaton as a consequence of failing the assessment test of his bowling action.

It was during the second One-day International between West Indies and New Zealand in December last year (2017) that Beaton was reprimanded for suspect bowling action.

Beaton was an integral part of the Carribean Premier League (CPL) winning team Trinbago Knight Riders squad this season.

The Guyanese bowler cannot take further part in any domestic matches as a constraint of suspension.

Moreover, the Windies can take part in the competitions after obtaining permission from Cricket West Indies (CWI).

Additionally, the Board is organizing a fast bowling camp in Antigua where the 25-year old bowler would look to assess his bowling action.

The aim of him joining the ongoing camp is to work on his bowling and thereby, come up with a remodelled action. Beaton can then apply for a re-assessment clause once he modifies his questionable action.

Director of Cricket West Indies (CWI) Jimmy Adams said that they will look after the bowler, in order to fast track the entire process. Such that, Beaton resumes International Cricket as soon as possible.

We are fully committed to working with Ronsford during this period of remedial work which will hopefully accelerate his successful re-admission to the professional game,” ESPNCricinfo quotes Adams.
