Former Australian fast bowler Brett Lee believes the pacers will have a hard time once the ball will get old in the England conditions. Lee believes that the conditions are not going to be conducive for the seamers as the matches are going to be played in June and July. In fact, there are two balls from both ends which takes away the reverse factor as well.

Meanwhile, the English pitches have been a paradise for the batsmen. We have seen the scores of around 350 have been the norm in England as the pitches have gone flat in the last four years. Furthermore, we have also witnessed that the score of over 300 has been chased with ease.

Scores of 350 runs have been a norm in England.

“We’ve got to keep in mind what time the tournament will be played. It is in June and July and the wickets over there aren’t really conducive to fast bowling at that time of the year,” the pacer explained as per AFP.

“So a lot of people think it will be a bowler’s wicket, but it’s not necessarily the case. I think they will be okay with the brand new ball, but once the shine goes from the ball it’s going to be hard work for the fast bowlers,” he said.

Consequently, we can witness high scoring matches in the upcoming World Cup. Furthermore, after the arrival of T20 cricket, the batsman has started to play with the better strike rate, which has played its hand.

Australia is back at full-throttle.

On the other hand, David Warner and Steven Smith have made a comeback to the Australian squad. Brett Lee believes the defending champions can go a long way in the upcoming tournament as they have a good team. However, Jhye Richardson was ruled out and Kane Richardson has been named as his replacement.

“They can go as far as they want to go. They are a good team. There has been an injury for one of the fast bowlers and Jhye Richardson is out of the World Cup, but Kane Richardson has been brought in. Look, any side that goes to the World Cup will be very well prepared. It’s all about who adapts well to the English wickets,” Lee said.

Australia has always been a side which has the experience of winning big matches. Smith and Warner are back and they are going to be the key for the reigning champions. Australia will begin their World Cup campaign against Afghanistan on June 1.
