Indian National Cricket team have announced a strong squad for the upcoming ICC World Cup 2019 in England and Wales starting from May 30. Placed at the second place in the ICC ODI Rankings, Virat Kohli & Co have a terrific chance to bring home their third title. Previously, India have the trophy in 1983 and 2011.

The selectors have done a fantastic job covering all the bases, and Virat Kohli backed the choices saying that this is the best squad they have. Although there have speculations about one or two places – Ambati Rayudu and Rishabh Pant, but the deserving players have gone to the World Cup.

The men in blues have been consistent in the last two years and will look to keep up the excellent work. They start their campaign against South Africa at the Rose Bowl on June 5.

All eyes will be on the top-ranked ODI batsman Virat Kohli when the marquee event kicks off. The talismanic run-scorer has been at his peak in the last two years breaking an array of records with each passing game. Over the previous two years, Kohli has scored 3273 runs from 53 matches at a staggering average of 80+. Besides, his conversion rate is spectacular as he has 15 centuries to his name.

The whole of India will pin hopes on their favourite boy to deliver at the biggest stage and bring back the glory. Virat Kohli will also hope to carry the good form in the World Cup and lead his side all the way.

Jasprit Bumrah has taken giant strides in the last two-three years. He impressed while playing for Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League and since then, has never looked back. Ever since he made his debut in 2016, Bumrah has gone on to become the first choice bowler for the Indian National Cricket Team. So far, he has picked 85 wickets from 49 ODIs at an economy rate of 4.51.

Bumrah will lead the bowling attack in the World Cup, and his form and fitness will be crucial to men in blues success in the 12th edition of the quadrennial tournament.
