India vs Australia 2019: Watch - Matthew Hayden Provides a Solution to Counter Kedar Jadhav
Updated - 08 Mar 2019, 04:57 PM
Former Australian southpaw batsman Matthew Hayden has some tips to counter-attack the bowling of Kedar Jadhav. The off-spinner has taken giant strides and it is difficult to gauge his low-arm action. Jadhav has a short height and he bends his knees to further get close to the ground. Thus, the off-spinner creates difficult angles for the opposition batsman and it is not easy to pick him.
Consequently, Kedar Jadhav bowls at a tight economy of 5.06 and he has taken 27 wickets in the 57 One Day Internationals he has played. Furthermore, he is now regarded as a partnership breaker for the India National Cricket team.
Not easy to play Kedar Jadhav.
Matthew Hayden said while talking in the video uploaded by Sanjay Manjrekar’s on his Twitter Handle. Hayden said, “So it’s not going to bounce, so you need to clear your front leg a little bit and hit the ball right through the line of the ball. So you try to hit the ball towards the long-on and long-off”.
On the other hand, Kedar Jadhav is on the expensive side in the ongoing third One Day International at Ranchi. Jadhav has conceded 32 runs in the two overs he has bowled thus far. He was taken to cleaners by Australian skipper Aaron Finch. Australia has had a great start as they have posted 196-1 in 33 overs.
Meanwhile, Kedar Jadhav had scored a fine knock of 81 runs off just 89 balls in the first ODI at Hyderabad. Hence, he was awarded the Man of the match. Jadhav had scored nine fours and one six in his fine knock.
Moreover, he had also taken one wicket. In fact, India had their backs against the wall in the first ODI as they were tottering for 99-4. However, MS Dhoni and Jadhav added 141 runs for the fifth wicket partnership.
