India vs New Zealand 2019: Harsha Bhogle Sums Up Dinesh Karthik's Denial of Single

The expert commentator Harsha Bhogle has shed light on Dinesh Karthik’s denial of single to Krunal Pandya. India required 14 runs from four balls when Dinesh Karthik send back Krunal Pandya. However, Karthik could only manage one run of the next ball which meant India required 13 off the final two balls. Pandya could also managed a single and Karthik scored a last-ball six as India fell four runs short.
However, Harsha Bhogle believes Dinesh Karthik should have taken that single but the veteran commentator also feels it would not have made difference in the eventual result. In fact, DK was timing the ball with perfection and backed himself to take India over the line.
It was an instinctive decision by the Tamil Nadu talisman batsman. However, Krunal Pandya was also batting well and there was a good chance that he could also have cleared the ropes.
Consequently, Dinesh Karthik had to face the backlash of the fans as they thought he should have taken the single. In fact, we have seen MS Dhoni doing the same while playing in his prime. Dhoni used to back himself and often got India over the line.
Meanwhile, Dinesh Karthik has done a great job in providing the finishing touches to the Indian innings. He had also scored a quickfire knock of 29 runs off just eight balls to help India win the Nidahas Trophy.
Harsha Bhogle took to Twitter to share his thought on Karthik. The post read as, “Lot of talk about Karthik turning down the single like Dhoni used to. He was in great touch, was backing himself. In the heat of the moment, you do things by instinct. He will realize he should have taken it given Pandya was hitting well. Not sure would’ve made a difference though’
