India vs South Africa 2019: 1st Test, Visakhapatnam – Day 1 Report; It has been a day, which was completely dominated by Indians, especially, Rohit Sharma, who blazed his way to a stunning century. He was equally and efficiently helped by Mayank Agarwal, who displayed his class at the opening slot once again.

Rohit Sharma scored an unbeaten 115*:

Initially, it was Virat Kohli, who won the toss, has elected to bat first on a nice wicket. Using the conditions, both the batsmen, Rohit Sharma and Mayank Agarwal knocked runs with ease as they found boundaries on a consistent basis.

During the course Rohit Sharma and Mayank Agarwal broke 47-year old record for India in Test cricket. After a long time, they both became the first pair to play their maiden Test as an opener on Indian soil. Mayank Agarwal is playing his first Test in India while Rohit Sharma is playing his maiden Test as an opener in Test cricket.

Using the opportunity, Rohit Sharma smashed a stunning century to prove his mettle at the top of the order. The unbeaten 115* would give him a massive hope to make things fall in place. On the other hand, Mayank Agarwal is continuing to impress at the top order.

At the end of Tea break, just ahead of heavy Rain, Rohit Sharma and Mayank Agarwal stitched a beautiful 202-run partnership for the opening wicket.

As the rain never left the venue, the officials called the day off thus asking players to return a half an hour earlier to the regular time to cover the lost time on Day 1 of the Test match.

All in all, it was a perfect day for the Indian openers, who had a stunning day in the middle. At the end of stumps, Mayank Agarwal was on 84,and, would be waiting to register a century for the team.
