India vs Windies 2018: BCCI Announces T20I Squad for Three-Match Series

The Board of Control for Cricket in India has announced the T20I squad for the three-match series against the Windies. The first match of the series is going to take place at Eden Gardens, Kolkata on 4th November.

Virat Kohli has been once again rested from the T20I squad which means Rohit Sharma will once again hold the captaincy bridle. Kohli was also rested from the Asia Cup and finds some more rest before the pivotal tour of Australia.

Selectors have gone with young blood.

Meanwhile, Rishabh Pant also finds his place in the T20I squad. Pant had made his T20I debut against England in February 2017. Interestingly, MS Dhoni is also not included in the squad.

Manish Pandey who could not find his place in the ODI squad finds his place in the T20I squad. Pandey has been in good form for the India A side. However, he was not able to come up with similar performances for the national side.

Meanwhile, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jasprit Bumrah return to the squad. Kumar and Bumrah were rested from the Test series against the Windies. Both the fast bowlers have been instrumental in the success of the team and would like to continue with their good form.

Krunal Pandya is also included in the T20I squad. Washington Sundar also returns to the squad after a long time. Meanwhile, Khaleel Ahmed who has impressed in the 50-overs format gets his maiden T20I call-up.

Shahbaz Nadeem who had recently taken the best figures in List A cricket also gets his maiden call-up to Indian squad. Shreyas Iyer also returns to the squad.
