Jason Ford Banned For One Year for Headbutting Incident With Hampshire Umpire

Following a headbutting incident with the Hampshire umpire, Jason Ford who belongs to Fawley Cricket Club (FCC) has been suspended from playing in the Hampshire League.

Ford involved himself in a headbutting incident on July 7 during the match between Fawley and Hythe Cricket Club (HCC).

While leading towards the umpire, a Hythe player lost his tooth in the untoward incident.

Jason Ford faced a ban of 17 matches:

Ford faced disciplinary charges from Hampshire Cricket Club (HCC) and suspended him for one year. In this one year process, he could have taken part in around 17 matches of the tournament.

As per the reports of dailyecho.co.uk, the chairman of the league, Denis Emery said the ban is for one year. The ban means that cricketer could only return after July month of next year.

“He had never been in trouble before. If he had he would have received a lifetime ban – and quite rightly so,” said Emery, as quoted by the website.

The report suggests that a Hythe player was doing the job of umpiring. When Ford when for the LBW appeal, the said umpire rejected his appeal. Following this, Ford went for assault purposes.

After the incident, the play was cast away, and the police were called on to do the investigation process. The event took place in New Forest Academy.

Fawley Cricket Club on the incident:

The chairman of Fawley, Chris Tona in a statement said that Ford faced termination from the Club.

“The individual involved was immediately suspended by the committee pending a full disciplinary meeting,” Tona maintained.

Reports of police on the incident of headbutting Hampshire Umpire from Jason Ford:

According to a spokesman of the Police department, no arrest has yet taken place. He said, “The investigation is ongoing.”
