It is now perhaps safe to say that one can find an old Jofra Archer tweet for almost every major action that takes place on the cricket field. The England superstar has relatable tweets to almost every big event that takes place in the game. It had started during last year’s World Cup when the fans used to dig up his old tweets to relate them to the outcomes of the games.

And on Friday, another old tweet of the allrounder went viral after he dismissed Chris Gayle for 99 during the clash between Rajasthan Royals and Kings XI Punjab in Abu Dhabi. Gayle’s knock came off 63 balls and was studded with six fours and eight maximums.

Gayle was on 92 when Jofra Archer came to bowl the final over of Kings XI Punjab’s innings started. After taking a single on the first ball, he hit the third one for a six at long on. With three balls left in the Jofra Archer over, Chris Gayle was looking destined to score his first ton of the ongoing IPL 2020. However, the Royals pace spearhead bowled a stunning yorker to castle Gayle.

And soon after he dismissed Gayle for 99, another of his old tweets went viral. In the tweet, which was posted way back in 2013, the Barbados-born allrounder was bragging about getting someone out before he could score a century, tweeting:

“I know if I was bowling I know he wasn’t getting da 100:

The fans were once again taken aback by the tweet as they started sharing it while also giving their reactions over the same.

Here are some of the reactions to the tweet:

As far as the match is concerned, Rajasthan Royals thrashed Kings XI Punjab by seven wickets to keep their playoff hopes alive. Chasing 184, the Royals crossed the finishing line with two balls to spare. Ben Stokes gave Royals a solid start by hitting a 25-ball fifty.

Sanju Samson then scored 48 off 25 balls to keep the chase on track before Steve Smith and Jos Buttler shared an unbeaten 41-run stand to take Royals home in the do-or-die clash.
