MCA Announces Cash Prize For Paras Mhambrey, Devraj Raut

Ashish Shelar, the President of Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA), has announced cash rewards for Paras Mhambrey and Devraj Raut.

While Mhambrey has been rewarded Rs 10 Lakh, Raut will be given Rs 5 Lakh as the reward. Mhambrey is the bowling coach of the India A and U19 team and performed the same role during the World Cup. Raut, on the other hand, worked as the video analyst with the team during the junior World Cup.

Mhambrey had to give up his role at Mumbai Indians franchise last year to continue his association with the BCCI’s team. He had been performing the role from past couple of years with both India A and U19 team. He got appointed as the coach of the India A side for the first time in 2007.

Prithvi Shaw awarded Rs 25 Lakh –

Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) had already awarded Rs 25 Lakh for Prithvi Shaw, the captain of the victorious U19 team. Shaw led the team to the title victory when the side defeated Australia U19 in the final, by chasing down a target of 217.

The right-handed batsman did well in the tournament and scored 261 runs in five  On captaincy front too, Shaw excelled and team India remained undefeated throughout.

BCCI’s reward –

The day when India U19 won the tournament, BCCI had already announced cash rewards for the players and coaches.

Rahul Dravid was awarded Rs 50 Lakh while the players got Rs 30 Lakhs, each. BCCI had also announced a reward worth Rs 20 Lakh for the other members of the support staff. The support staff comprises of Mhambrey, Raut, Abhay Sharma and few other members.

Players join state teams –

Many of the players of the U19 side joined their respective state sides to play the Vijay Hazare Trophy. Shaw is playing for Mumbai while Shubman Gill and Abhishek Sharma are playing for Punjab.

Anukul Roy and Riyan Parag are playing for Jharkhand and Assam respectively.

Arshdeep Singh is playing for Punjab in the CK Nayudu knockout league.
