MS Dhoni Knows What Is Best For Him - Brian Lara

Brian Lara is the latest person to join the bandwagon of former cricketers or experts to give an opinion on the continuation of MS Dhoni in the Indian National Cricket Team. The former skipper of the West Indies feels that there is no requirement of advice for MS Dhoni, who knows a lot about himself. He believes MS Dhoni will do what is right for the Indian Cricket Team.

Speculations are rife about MS Dhoni’s future in international cricket. The wicketkeeper-batsman has not played for India since the 2019 World Cup semi-final and is expected to be back only during the Indian Premier League in 2020. As per the reports, it was learnt that MS Dhoni’s participation in ICC T20I World Cup 2020 would be based on his performances in IPL.

Despite being on leave, Dhoni was spotted training in Ranchi. When he was himself probed about his future at an event, he told reporters, “January Tak Mat Pooch (don’t ask until January).” The two-time World Cup-winning captain, however, did not elaborate on whether fans can expect him to return to the senior squad in January next year.

Meanwhile, Brian Lara also said MS Dhoni knows best about what the future holds for him in international cricket. And also, he maintained that the World Cup-winning former captain is an asset to whatever team he plays for. He believes the Indian selectors and the board is in touch with him.

“MS Dhoni would know what’s best for him. He has served Indian cricket very well. MS Dhoni is an asset to any team he plays for. I am sure he would be playing in the IPL and performing. So he would know what’s best. The BCCI and the selectors also know what’s going on,” Lara said to India Today.
