Before these three players,  Hilton Cartwright had already crossed from the Scorchers to the Stars this year while Shaun Marsh also departed for the champion Melbourne Renegades. Nathan Coulter-Nile has played in 38 Big Bash League games for the Scorchers, picking up 46 wickets and scoring 285 runs.

“The opportunity to come to Melbourne and the MCG for the summer and to play at the Stars proved to be an exciting one. I feel as though I am at a stage of my career where a move feels right and to have friends like Adam Zampa and Marcus Stoinis at the Stars, made it the right fit,” Coulter-Nile said about his move.

“The last eight years at the Scorchers have been great and it was a tough decision to leave. I really appreciate the support I’ve received from the coaches, staff, members and fans and I’d like to thank all of them,” he added.

Perth Scorchers, meanwhile, need to bolster their squad quickly after a disappointing last season. The record three-time BBL winners finished at the bottom of the points table for the first time.  The Scorchers have owed much of their success to their homegrown Western Australian players. They have already signed Victorian leg-spinner Fawad Ahmed and are linked with South Africa captain Faf du Plessis.

Meanwhile, The Stars begin their campaign in the upcoming season on December 20 when they play against Brisbane Heat.
