Pakistan vs Australia 2018: Twitter Reacts as Pakistan Clinches the Series
Updated - 19 Oct 2018, 05:57 PM
Pakistan proved to be too good for Australia in the second Test match at Abu Dhabi. The hosts were able to win by a gargantuan margin of 373 runs, thus winning the match to take the series 1-0. Pakistan could not close out the first match as Australia had shown the resistance. However, the hosts didn’t leave any stone unturned in the second match as they once stamped their domination over depleted Australian side.
In fact, it was a one-way traffic throughout the two-match Test series. The hosts had also dominated the first Test match. The home side made 282 in the first innings of the second Test match. They were reeling at 77-5 after the first session. However, Sarfraz Ahmed and debutant Fakhar Zaman played a good knock of 94 each to keep their side in the hunt.
A clinical performance from Pakistan.
Subsequently, Pakistan was able to come up with a fine performance in their bowling innings. They were able to skittle out the visitors for a paltry score of 145 in the first dig. Thus, the hosts were able to put their noses in front.
Mohammad Abbas was once again amongst the wickets as the fast bowler continued to trouble the Aussie batsmen. Abbas scalped a five-wicket haul to put the tourists on the backfoot.
Pakistan was able to put a fine performance in their second batting innings, thus kicking Australia out of the game. Sarfraz Ahmed led-side put 400-9 on the board after good contribution from Fakhar Zaman, Azhar Alli, Babar Azam and the captain himself.
Mohammad Abbas joined the party again as he took another five-wicket haul to seal the series win for his team. Yasir Shah was able to take three wickets in the second essay. Thus, Pakistan was able to tick the right boxes whereas Australia has a lot to worry about.

Another magical spell by the magician @Mohmmadabbas111 after long time seeing a Pakistani bowler rising to NO 1 in tests. Abbas's hard work has paid off. Such good figures on the flat tracks of UAE.@TheRealPCB @ICC

Marnus Labuschagne trying to become the first South African-born Australian batsman to make a 50, take five wickets, take a ridiculous catch, drop a sitter, and get run out farcically in the same Test.

1st 10-wicket haul by a Pakistan pacer since Mohammad Asif.

I love Mohammad Abbas. What a bowler. From earning a crust in a leather factory to the best average of any bowler with over 50 test wickets in more than 100 years. Remarkable. #PAKvAUS #cricket

Just the difference between this test and 1st one was Usman Khawaja. His brilliant knock of 140 odds in 2nd innings made them draw the match for Aussies. Otherwise there was no other obstacle for @TheRealPCB to cross the line as winners #pakvaus

From a score of 57/5 to giving a lead of 500 and then ending the test in 4 days.
That's Pakistan cricket for you ! #PakvAus— Fahad Zafar (@arainfahad) October 19, 2018
Ok public of Australia, beside Aaron Finch name your top 6 for the 1st test v India in 48 days time. Travis Head just about the only other certainty in that top 6. Well done Pakistan on the win as well after Nathan Lyon 4 wkts in 6 balls on day 1. #PakvAus

What a great win it is..!! Amazing performance by team. Sarfaraz and Fakahr laid the foundation after quick loss of wickets in 1st inn followed by brilliance of Muhammad Abbas in both innings. Congratulations to the whole Pakistan.

Well played
Muhammad Abbas ,
Congrats on bagging 10 wickets
Seeing his control on line and length ..
This guy deserves to be selected in short format cricket as well
He is a thinking bowler like Great Glenn McGrath .@RealPCBCricket#PAKvAus #AusvsPak— Mashal (@Maashal1144) October 19, 2018
Well played Pakistan. Deserved to win 2-0 but pretty sure they will take 1-0. This Aussie side didnt do anything that all the other, much higher rated, aussie sides have done in the past…..failed in Asia. Hard to see them competing against India in the summer though. #PAKvAUS
