Rashid Khan, on Sunday, once again showed that he is more than a handy batsman as he played a fine cameo to help Adelaide Strikers post a good total against Melbourne Renegades in the ongoing Big Bash League. While the Afghanistan sensation is one of the best bowlers in the world right now, he is not rated very highly  for his batting.

But time and again, Rashid Khan has shown he has the ability to deliver with the bat too and did it again on Sunday. He came out to bat when Adelaide Strikers lost Alex Carey with the scoreboard only reading 125 in 16.1 overs. Rashid Khan then slammed two fours and as many sixes during his 25-run knock to help his side post a competitive total of 155 in the stipulated 20 overs.

The Camel stuns everyone:

While Rashid Khan once again impressed with his batting abilities, it was his bat that caught everyone’s attention. Unlike the regular bats, Rashid Khan’s bat had a small depression on the back side and looked like a Bactrian camel which has two humps. Cricket Australia posted a picture of the bat on Twitter and called it The Camel.

Talking about Adelaide Strikers’ innings, opener Philip Salt was the top-scorer for them. He scored 54 runs of just 26 balls to give his side a flying start although his fellow opener Jack Weatherald departed for just 6 off 12 balls. Captain Alex Carey then scored 41 off 37 balls before Rashid Khan weaved his magic.

Adelaide Strikers, nonetheless, are third in the points table with five points from their opening three games. After their first game was abandoned, they beat Perth Scorchers and Melbourne Stars.
