Mumbai Indians take on Delhi Capitals in match 43 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi on Saturday. This is an afternoon game starting from 3.30 pm IST.

MI are heading into this game after losing their previous match to the Rajasthan Royals. They got a hammering at the hands of RR who defeated them twice this season.

MI have played eight games and have won just three games. They have six more games remaining and need to win both of them if they want to secure their place in the playoffs. Winning five of them is important

MI started with three back-to-back defeats. They won against Delhi Capitals and RCB back to back and looked to regain some momentum but their loss to RR once again was a heavy defeat for them as a side.

They made some changes in their previous game bringing in Mehal Wadhera into the lineup and also Piyush Chawla but despite putting up a score of 179, skipper Hardik Pandya could not use his bowlsr wisely. They used seven bowlers in the end but could not get the desired result.

Mumbai Indians Playing 11 vs Delhi Capitals- IPL 2024, Match 43

Rohit Sharma

Rohit will open the batting. He was dismissed for just six off five balls in the match against RR. He has scored over 300 runs in 8 matches including a century. However, barring that century against CSK, the former MI skipper has struggled with the bat.

Ishan Kishan (WK)

Kishan will open the batting with Rohit. He scored a duck against RR in the previous match. So far this season he has scored 192 runs from 8 games including two ducks. He will play his 100th IPL game on Saturday.

Suryakumar Yadav

SKY will slot in at three. He was dismissed for just 8 against RR. He missed the first few games as he was recovering but his inclusion too has not impacted MI in a big way. Opposition teams have managed to get him out cheaply.

Tilak Varma

The southpaw will slot in at four. He is fresh off a 65 against RR which MI unfortunately lost. He previously scored 64 against SRH in that match MI lost as well. MI has lost both the matches where Tilah has scored some runs.

Hardik Pandya (C)

Hardik will slot in at five. He has not been consistent with either bat or ball for MI this season. Against RR, he scored just 10 and went for 21 off his two overs.

Tim David

David will slot in at six. He scored just three off five balls against RR. MI hoped that he would be an ideal replacement for Kieron Pollard in the lineup but the Aussie hard-hitter has not stepped up consistently.

Mohammad Nabi

Nabi will slot in at seven. He has scored 23 off 17 balls. He has been scarcely used with the ball as well. Against RR, he went for 30 off his three overs.

Gerald Coetzee

Coetzee will bat at eight. He was the best bowler for Mumbai Indians against RR as he bowled with pace and fire. The South African pacer has picked up 12 wickets in 8 games so far

Jasprit Bumrah

Bumrah will slot in at nine. He has picked up 13 wickets from 8 games and is on par in terms of wickets with Yuzvendra Chahal. Against RR, he went wicketless. He will have to bowl well against DC if MI are to win.

Piyush Chawla

Chawla will slot in at 10. He bowled a spell of 33 for 1 in four overs against RR. The veteran leggie picked up 22 wickets last season and has picked up just three this season.

Nuwan Thushara

The Sri Lankan concludes the likely playing XI for Mumbai Indians against Delhi Capitals in New Delhi on Saturday. He made his IPL debut in the last match and went for 28 off his three overs.

Impact Sub- Nehal Wadhera

The southpaw scored an impressive 49 off 24 balls at a strike rate of over 200 against RR. He should be used as the Impact sub in the remaining games by MI lengthening their batting lineup.
