Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant has been signed by JSW Steel as their brand ambassador. Pant plays for the Indian Premier League (IPL) team Delhi Capitals (DC), which is co-owned by JSW. The collaboration was announced on Wednesday and is due to run for the next three years.

The 22-year-old Pant has been on the rise ever since playing for India at the 2019 ODI World Cup. After MS Dhoni announced his sabbatical leave, India made Pant their first choice wicket-keeper although he suffered an injury against Australia at home.

Since then, KL Rahul has replaced Pant as India’s wicket-keeper and the Capitals’ player has found it difficult to find a place for himself in the playing eleven for India.

Despite these minor setbacks, the left-handed batsman has been roped in by Jindal Steel as their brand ambassador.

Rishabh Pant become JSW Steel’s brand ambassador:

On Wednesday, the deal was announced that Pant will become the face of JSW Steel for the duration of 36 months.

Reacting to the news, the 22-year-old said, “I am very happy to partner with JSW Steel. I sincerely believe that this is the beginning of a very long and exciting association.”

Parth Jindal of the JSW group too had some kind words for Pant as he indicated which brands the player will be seen promoting.

“As a brand we believe that we are young, hungry, fearless and world class, the same traits we see in Rishabh Pant. We are thrilled to have Rishabh as our brand ambassador and have no doubt that this partnership will be beneficial and increase the recall for the JSW Neosteel and JSW Coloron+ brands,” he informed.

JSW will launch a marketing campaign with Pant as its centerpiece by mid-February.

Meanwhile, Pant has been included in India’s 16 man squad for the upcoming Test series against New Zealand. He did not play in the first ODI of the three-match ODI series, but given that India lost against the Kiwis, if Virat Kohli thinks of experimenting with his side for the other two ODIs Pant could come in and perform straightaway.
