SA vs IND 2018: Shikhar Dhawan Expresses Joy after winning the ODI series

The Indian team won the six match ODI series 5-1 and completely dominated the Proteas on their home soil. This was India’s first ever bilateral series win the Rainbow nation in 25 years. India banked on some great team and individual performance.

The Indian top order enjoyed great form and held the upper hand over the Proteas bowlers. Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan and Virat Kohli have a hundred to their name in the ODI series.

Similarly, in the sixth ODI Virat Kohli scored his 35th ODI century and his third in the series. Kohli broke some important records en route to his century.

Kohli was the leading run scorer in the series with 558 runs in six matches. The total was more than the combined total of Rohit and Shikhar in the series.

The Indian wrist spinners also had a series to remember as the duo of Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav picked up 33 wickets. Yadav picked up 17 wickets while Chahal picked up 16 wickets in the six matches.

The team received great appreciation from the fans and former players. The players also expressed their joy after the victory on social media.

Dhawan, who scored 323 runs in the six match ODI series, also expressed his happiness on Twitter and wrote, “Lo ji chako trophy tey manao khushiyaan, 25 saal baad jawano ney jung jeeti hai… Buraahhhhhh”
