It seems as if the fuss about MS Dhoni’s retirement isn’t ending anytime soon. Now, his wife, Sakshi Dhoni, has also jumped into the discussion and shut all those mouths who are spreading fake news about MS Dhoni’s international retirement.

It is well known that MS Dhoni hasn’t played international cricket since India’s semi-final defeat in the 2019 world cup against New Zealand. Since then, there have been rumours in the media about his stint in the international circuit.

A couple of months ago, some media reports emerged suggesting that MS Dhoni has finally decided to hang his boots after an illustrious career. However, there was no official confirmation either from the board or MS Dhoni himself.

His return was much anticipated with the return of IPL 2020 this year as he was back to the field sweating it hard for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK). However, the BCCI had to postpone the tournament indefinitely due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic. And, this has again given way to speculations on Dhoni’s future with Team India.

Former Cricketers Divided On MS Dhoni’s Return To Team India

Recently, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) star batsman Suresh Raina said MS Dhoni did not show any signs of ageing and that he was hitting the big sixes at will, as usual during the training camp in Chennai. Laxmipathy Balaji, the bowling coach of Chennai Super Kings, also vouched for MS Dhoni’s return.

On the other hand, former wicketkeeper-batsman, Deep Dasgupta had said that MS Dhoni should have kept playing domestic cricket if he aspired a return to the Indian team. Kris Srikkanth also noted that if the IPL does not take place, Dhoni’s return looks impossible. Gautam Gambhir and Ashish Nehra also had similar views to those of Srikkanth.

With Sakshi Dhoni’s recent comments on the entire episode, one thing is clear that MS Dhoni has still got ambitions to represent India on the international stage. However, Sakshi Dhoni later deleted the tweet which also raises uncertainty over the legendary Indian skipper’s future.
