Australian player Sophie Molineux showed off some incredible dance moves after Australia defeated India by 85 runs in the Women’s T20 World Cup final on Sunday. While Alyssa Healy was adjudged the player of the match, Sophie took charge of the proceedings after the game and treated the crowd — to some amazing dance steps.

Renowned international singer Katy Perry took to the stage in front of 86,000 fans at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), and soon the Australian ladies joined in the post-match celebrations.

Sophie, a left-arm spinner, decided to take the centre stage as she danced on Perry’s songs.

An already pumped up Australian crowd got all the more excited and soon the other players also followed suit.

The post-match celebrations were absolutely incredible as Australia romped to a win against first-time finalists India.

Batting first, the hosts and defending champions asked India — to chase a target of 184 runs. Harmanpreet Kaur’s side though could muster up just 99 runs in reply, before getting all-out.

The result handed Australia yet another Women’s T20 World Cup title, and their dominance in women’s cricket continues.

The home fans wouldn’t mind that though as they enjoyed the match and the post-match celebrations as well.

Apart from Sophie’s dance, another of her act caught the public’s attention. After the match, the 22-year-old posed for a picture with a disabled fan boundary side.

She then put her winner’s medal around the young girl’s neck, which was a sweet gesture from the Aussie spinner.

Here is a video of the touching incident:

This just goes on to show how far the Women’s game has come in the last few years.

Moreover, from Sophie’s side, it an act of inspiration for young fans out there.
