Former Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Secretary Sanjay Jagdale feels the selectors should talk to former skipper MS Dhoni to end speculations over his career. Meanwhile, there has been a new story every day about the legendary cricketer ever since the World Cup.

The cricketer from Ranchi has made him unavailable from cricket since India’s ouster from the semifinals of the ICC World Cup. MS Dhoni had poor returns in the premier tournament in England and decide to take a sabbatical. During this period, Dhoni worked with the Army in the month of August.

He also played an amateur golf tournament in the USA and took part in a charity football match. Most recently, Dhoni attended the third Test between India and South Africa, hosted by Jharkhand State Cricket Association.

Meanwhile, the newly-elected BCCI President has cleared that he will talk with MS Dhoni; however, vowed to give the cricketer respect. Former BCCI secretary, Sanjay Jagdale also feel that the selectors should talk to the cricketer to have a clear picture.

“The issue of Dhoni’s future is not a big one and it should not be blown out of proportion. Ganguly and the selectors can easily resolve this issue by talking directly to Dhoni,” Jagdale told PTI. “Such issues are normally resolved by holding talks with big cricketers in every country,” he added.

Sanjay Jagdale, a former national selector, also congratulated Sourav Ganguly, who took over as the BCCI President on October 23. Ganguly became the first cricketer in 65 years to take over the charge as a full-time President. Previously, Ganguly has worked with the Cricket Association of Bengal in the same role.

“It’s a good start,” Jagdale said, adding, “I believe his vast experience as a cricketer and sports administrator will benefit Indian cricket.”
