Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) recently inaugurated a bell like that of the historic Lord’s Cricket Ground to initiate a cricket match. On October 4 (Sunday), CAB invited former cricket Mohammad Azharuddin to ring the bell to mark the start of the opening T20I fixture between India and Windies. However, this has not gone well with Gautam Gambhir, known for his upright views on social media.

Meanwhile, since his comments, Gambhir has received severe backlash from the fans on social media. Many even suspected him as one of the potential candidates of a political party for the Lok Sabha elections in 2019, and thus he is targeting Azharuddin, a former member of parliament from Uttar Pradesh.

However, a tweet from the official Twitter account of Mohammad Azharuddin hit back at the Delhi-born cricketer. The tweet addressed the former India skipper as Azhar and urged Gautam Gambhir to refrain from making such comments.

Azhar is a great cricketer and in the eyes of law he is not guilty too. Gambhir just to please a particular party dont say anything to a veteran cricketer. U also know that as a cricketer he is even better than u. To soch samjahkar tweet karein,” the tweet read.

However, the tweet got deleted later. Gautam Gambhir hits out at the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Committee of Administrators (CoA) and CAB for allowing Mohammad Azharuddin to ring the bell before the match.

Satirical Gautam Gambhir asked the cricket regulatory officials that their no tolerance policy against the corrupt takes a leave on Sundays!
