It seems like the troubles are continuing to stretch for KL Rahul. The flamboyant batsman has gone through a lot in the recent past for his remarks alongside Hardik Pandya in the Koffee With Karan Show. For the same, he lost his place in the Indian National Cricket Team and was asked to represent India A to show his mettle.

Meanwhile, he failed to show his mojo for the team, as he was gone for a golden duck. He was cleaned up by Lewis Gregory right in the first ball of the innings, which saw India A in a reeling position. It was his second poor knock on a trot.

KL Rahul failed for the second time in a row:

Well, coming to the match, after the poor knocks by the openers, the skipper Ankit Bawne scored a 17-ball duck while Rishabh Pant and Deepak Hooda scored 7 and 5 runs respectively. All those poor scores saw Indian batsmen reeling at 57/6 at the end of 16 overs. Siddhesh Lad, who scored 36 also faltered to convert his start when the team wants the most.

Meanwhile, Axar Patel’s 23 and Deepak Chahar’s 21 helped India past 100-run mark on the board. They finished with 121 runs in the stipulated 35 overs per innings. Jamie Overton bagged 3 wickets while Tom Bailey picked up a couple of wickets. Gregory, Carter and Mullaney picked up 1 wicket each.

Ben Duckett delivered:

In reply, once again Englishmen found it tough to tackle Indian bowlers. Both openers went for 17 runs on the board while Sam Hain also walked back for a cheap score. Sam Billings, Mullaney and Overton registered 8,8 and 1 to their name respectively to make things interesting.

However, the stylish southpaw Ben Duckett stood like a warrior in between the win and loss for both the sides. He scored a marathon knock of unbeaten 70* to guide England Lions to victory with one wicket in hand.

Indian bowlers took the game to the last wicket but the brilliance of Duckett made the massive difference. Despite the loss in the final unofficial ODI, India sealed the series.
