Glenn Maxwell tied the knot with his long-time girlfriend Vini Raman on March 18. The wedding was performed in two traditional ways, one being Maxwell’s Christian vows and then Raman’s traditional Indian ceremony.

The 33-year-old all-rounder, who will play for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the upcoming IPL season, shared an Instagram story with his Indian-origin wife, Vini Raman, in which the couple was seen holding hands with rings in their fingers.

Maxwell and Vini, who is a pharmacist based in Melbourne and belongs to a Tamil family, have been together for more than five years now and got engaged in February 2020.

On March 27, Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell and Vini Raman also got married in the traditional Indian Tamilian ceremony. Thanks to this reason, the 33-year-old also decided to give Australia’s historic all-format bilateral series in Pakistan a miss and was not available for the Royal Challengers Bangalore’s IPL 2022 opening clash against Punjab Kings.

A video of Glenn Maxwell and Vini Raman’s wedding surfaced on social media. In the video, both can be seen putting garlands to each other in what was an Indian traditional wedding. Vini had donned one of the traditional Indian sarees while Maxwell was in Sherwani.

Maxwell is expected to join the RCB franchise after April 5 as per Cricket Australia (CA)’s central contract rules. He was retained by the Royal Challengers Bangalore franchise along with Virat Kohli and Mohammed Siraj ahead of the IPL 2022 mega auction.

Maxwell was also in line for becoming the new RCB captain after Virat Kohli had stepped down from the post-IPL 2021 tournament where they finished reaching the playoffs. Maxwell was in top form in the Indian Premier League IPL 2021 edition having amassed 513 runs from 15 matches averaging 42.75 and a strike rate of 144.10 including six half-centuries.

RCB will be eager to welcome Maxwell into the side, after they lost their IPL 2022 opening encounter to Punjab Kings, despite scoring 205 batting first thanks to new captain Faf du Plessis’ brilliant 88.
