Former India skipper Sunil Gavaskar has made a bold prediction about Virat Kohli stating that the latter can play for ten more years and break most of the Test and ODI records.

Meanwhile, Kohli has been in scintillating form in the recently concluded one-day international series against Windies. He scored three back to back centuries to become the fastest to score 10000 ODI runs in terms of innings. In doing so, he overtook master blaster Sachin Tendulkar who achieved the feat in 269 innings in compared to Kohli’s 205.

Furthermore, the updated rankings see Virat Kohli further strengthen his hold over the top position in the batsmen rankings after reaching 10,000 ODI runs in the series against West Indies. With a series aggregate of 453 runs, he earned 15 points which have lifted him to 899 points – 28 ahead of second-ranked team-mate Rohit Sharma.

The talismanic run-scorer has made it a habit of breaking records with each and every passing knock. Although he is way too far from surpassing Sachin Tendulkar’s records, he is well in line to do so.

Speaking to Aajtak, Sunil Gavaskar also spoke on the same line noting that if Virat Kohli continues for another ten years, he can break most of the records. Gavaskar has backed Kohli’s ability since long and this prediction coming from him is not a surprise.

Virat can play for 10 more years and break most Test and ODI records,” Sunil Gavaskar said.

Meanwhile, the selectors have decided to rest Virat Kohli in order to manage his workload. The selectors will want a fit and fresh Kohli for the upcoming series against Australia starting later this month.
