India skipper Virat Kohli has been facing the heat on social media for his message on Diwali. Cricketers from around the world took to their social media accounts to wish the fans on the auspicious day. Virat Kohli, who is currently in Australia for the upcoming series, also made sure to convey his wishes to the fan.

He, however, ended up offending most of the fans with his message for Diwali. After wishing everyone a happy Diwali, the India skipper decided to don the environmentalist’s hat. Virat Kohli, who had enjoyed firecrackers on his birthday around a week ago, asked everyone not to burst crackers.

“A very happy Diwali from me to you and your families. May god bless you with peace, prosperity and happiness this Diwali,” Virat Kohli said in the video.

“Please remember do not burst crackers to protect the environment and have fun at home with your loved ones with a simple diya and sweets on this auspicious occasion,” he added.

Unsurprisingly, the fans were not happy with the 32-year old’s needless advice and slammed him for the same. And amidst all these, one of his old tweets has gone viral on the social media platform. The tweet is from 2016 where Virat Kohli could be seen enjoying firecrackers on the occasion of New Year.
