After a washout in the first ODI at Guyana, India and West Indies, both will be keen to secure a win when they play the second match at the Port of Spain in Trinidad on August 11 (Sunday). The players from both the camps will want full 100 overs of actions this time around.

West Indies have lacked consistency in recent times and has been the most unpredictable side in world cricket. They went down 3-0 against India in the T20Is and will be desperate to bounce back. Captain Jason Holder will expect more intensity from his team just like they performed against England earlier this year. Evin Lewis looked among the runs during the brief game time in the first ODI which will keep the West Indies camp in head stead. The batting will have to come together and offer support to the bowlers as they aim to take the lead.

For India, their main aim will be to solve the middle-order problems they have been facing since the last three-four years. Shreyas Iyer, who has been good in the domestic circuit for India A and the IPL will audition for the spot. He will be keen to make a good mark and cement his place in the no four position. This will also be a good opportunity for Khaleel Ahmed to be in the good books of the selectors ahead of the long home series.

Match Prediction

India and West Indies have produced some outstanding matches in the past keeping the spectators firmly seated on the chairs. Meanwhile, the host has an excellent winning record against the Men in Blues and leads them in the number of victories in ODI games.

However, this Indian team is more confident and has the quality to beat any side in the world. As a result, ranked second in the ICC Rankings, India will be the favourites to take the important lead in the second of the three-match series.
